About Creative and Performing Arts

Creative and Performing Arts is a thriving Department at the heart of the school’s community. We offer A Levels in Fine Art, 3D Design, Photography, Drama and Music. Students benefit from a fully equipped dark room, wet and dry art studios, a digital suite, a music room and a large auditorium. The school holds an annual Art and Design competition offering arts scholarships to the most talented students in Poland. Our graduates have been offered places at the top creative and performing arts institutions, including Architecture at Cambridge, The Bartlett School of Architecture, Parsons School of Design, Design Academy Eindhoven, Glasgow School of Art, University of the Arts London, Guildhall School of Music and Drama , Berklee College of Music, and NYU Tisch. The school collaborates with leading practitioners in Poland and abroad who deliver extended projects and individual workshops.

About the role

We are looking to appoint a highly motivated and enthusiastic Teacher of Art and Design, who is excited by the prospect of contributing within a Liberal Arts College environment. The successful candidate will be an excellent classroom practitioner and will have a proven record of delivering the highest standard of teaching and fostering academic excellence.

The full-time teaching commitment is 20 hours of instruction per week with generous time allowances built into the timetable to facilitate effective preparation, marking, and report writing. The maximum class size is 12, which allows our students to benefit from more focused and personalised teaching. Teachers are expected to either be involved in pastoral care (tutoring of a small group) or supporting student clubs and co-curricular activities. The regular school week is from Monday to Friday, with occasional school events happening on weekends (e.g. open days, school trips) that teachers may be required to attend.

About you

We are looking for professionals demonstrably committed to pursuing a career in education. The successful candidate will be able to inspire and widen students’ interests in their subject as well as effectively guide them in exam preparation.

Educational Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Art and Design or other related field
  • Teaching experience specifically in A Levels or International Baccalaureate
  • Thorough knowledge of the subject curricula: iGCSE and A Level
  • Involvement in extra-curricular activities: professional, amateur, or voluntary
  • Experience managing and leading groups of students/young people or arts related projects
  • High level of IT literacy
