On behalf of our client, ELPEDISON, we are looking to recruit a Data Governance Specialist-Officer.

ELPEDISON, with its two privately-owned power plants in Thisvi (Voiotia )and Thessaloniki, with a total installed capacity of 820 MW, uses natural gas as fuel and ensures a clean and continuous electricity flow, based on a highly environmentally-friendly power generation process.
The position
Responsible for implementing and maintaining a data management framework, developing policies and procedures for data management, and ensuring compliance with data protection regulations. Responsible for collaborating with business units and IT teams to ensure that data is effectively managed across the organization.Provides guidelines in order to manage Metadata information and approve list of Enterprise Critical Data Elements (ECDEs) and gathering the proper accompanied artifacts for prioritizing ECDEs.Establishes a Reference and Master Data Management concept in order to understand, identify and define them across systems following the Enterprise Data Architecture.
Main Duties
- Develops, manages and continuously updates all data management related policies, processes and guidelines, ensuring the governance roles are clearly defined and responsibilities are fulfilled.
- Defines and updates the stakeholders regarding the Enterprise Data Domain list and Enterprise Critical Data Elements List (ECDE).
- Develops evaluation metrics for ECDEs to monitor the Data Management framework’s efficiency and maturity.
- Implements the resolution of data integrity gaps by working with the business owners and DI unit.
- Develops the Master and Reference data management methodology in order to identify and maintain an inventory of Master and Reference data sources and contributors to ensure consistency according to roles and responsibilities.
- Develops the enterprise business and technical metadata methodology, including data dictionaries, data lineage and all associated metadata initiatives.
- Conducts training sessions for Data Management Awareness and future Data Management Role responsibilities
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Business Analytics, Information Technology or relevant field.
- Master’s degree will be considered an asset.
- Approx. 3-6 years of professional experience in Data Engineering, Business Analysis, Data Platforms.
- Prior experience in the energy sector will be considered a plus.
- Experience in data governance practices, business and technology issues related to management of enterprise information assets and approaches related to data management standards.
- Strong knowledge in using DAMA-BOK standards to ensure that all data in an organization is accurate and consistent.
- Perform data validity, accuracy and integrity standards in different components of the enterprise data landscape.
- Understanding of cloud architecture and services.
- Understanding of data architecture principles and how these can be practically applied within a similar organisation.
- Understanding of data flow modelling and cloud-based solution development standards.
- Knowledge of Data Catalog, Business Vocabulary and Metadata information usage and techniques.
- Knowledge of Master and Reference data methodology for identifying the golden record.
- Knowledge of general data concepts and methods such as data classification, personal data identification etc..
- Excellent communication and presentation skills to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Excellent command of the English language; both written and oral.
- Knowledge of programming languages (e.g. R and Python).
