Council is seeking applications for the position of Grants Coordinator to undertake duties as a member of the Corporate Services Department. The Grants Coordinator is responsible for sourcing, applying and managing successful grant applications for the benefit of Council and our local community.
This is a permanent part time position based on 22.5 hours per week (3 days), under the current Local Government (State) Award 2023.
The pro-rata 3 days salary range with relevant qualifications is Grade 10, Step 0 $1267.14 per week to Grade 10, Step 4 $1469.88 per week.
- Research and source grant opportunities for the Oberon Local Government Area (LGA).
- Develop, coordinate and prepare submissions for grants to Local, State and Federal Governments, and philanthropic organisations.
- Liaise with coordinating bodies in relation to grants funding.
- Liaise regularly with Local, State and Federal members to identify funding opportunities.
- Maintain an accurate and up to date Grants financial register.
- Assist Council staff to monitor non-recurrent grant expenditure.
- Undertake financial acquittals, prepare payment claims, grant reports, and compliance with funding agreements.
- Develop a monthly grants report in conjunction with the Corporate Service Director.
Key Selection Criteria
1. 2-3 year’s minimum experience in a grants coordination role, or related business, finance or governance administration.
2. Demonstrated ability to compile grant applications and complete the acquittal process including the ability to engage and communicate effectively with key community groups, other government departments and internal stakeholders.
3. Demonstrate understanding of general financial concepts essential for monitoring and reporting on grant expenditure and acquittals.
4. Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
5. Formal qualifications in grants administration, business or communication desirable.
6. Experience in Microsoft365 software with expertise in Excel

Medical Requirements
Successful applicant will be required to satisfactorily complete a pre-employment medical examination covering the areas of drug and alcohol screening, hearing, vision, core upper/lower body strengths and balance, manual handling, cardiovascular and blood pressure.
