About the role:
As the successful applicant, you will be actively involved in supporting the North-West Metro Regional Intelligence Management Unit by producing Regional strategic and routine intelligence on crime themes and community safety issues. Producing high quality intelligence reports with recommendations to assist Senior Management within the Region. Supporting the Divisional intelligence teams through making high quality recommendations in respect of intelligence outputs and statistical data evaluation.
Your duties will include:
- Undertake the collection, evaluation, collation, analysis, and controlled dissemination of information in respect of investigations/situations.
- Make high quality recommendations in respect of the analysis of intelligence and statistical data, identification and evaluation of emerging patterns and trends in crime, organised criminal activity, public order, road policing areas, or family violence.
- Identify, assess, validate, and report on specific targets or target areas.
- Continuous monitoring of strategies, outputs, and outcomes, using a variety of computer systems and applications.
- Liaising with and developing strong networks with both internal and external stakeholders.
As the successful applicant, you will have:
- Proven experience as an Intelligence Analyst.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Experience and confidence in using a variety of Information Technology systems.
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills and the ability to provide reports on complex statistical issues and the exchange of information.
- The ability to identify, respond and adapt to emerging issues in a fast-changing environment.
Requirements and relevant information:
- Two (2) full time, ongoing positions available.
- Position is located at Victoria Police Centre, 311 Spencer Street, Docklands. While this position will have a nominated usual place of work, the position may be required to work at other locations, in accordance with the provisions of the relevant Victorian Public Service Agreement.
- The successful applicant will be required to undergo National Security Vetting, achieve, and maintain a security classification as determined by the Department Head. To achieve this, applicants must be an Australian Citizen.
- The successful candidate will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include fingerprint checks and misconduct screening.
- In accordance with the Acting Chief Health Officer's Direction - COVID-19 Mandatory Vaccination (Workers) Directions, you are required to be fully vaccinated (this includes the booster dose) and your employment with Victoria Police is subject to proof of vaccination.
