Job Description
#LI-FN1
Knock Knock. An Async Event. Who’s there?
Do you love making jokes about eventual consistency? Come join us on our journey towards event driven architecture and help us build a platform for all the software engineering teams across the LEGO Group.
Core Responsibilities
You will be part of a team where we build our future event streaming platform and the tooling around it. It is going to be the preferred platform for our colleagues in the LEGO group when publishing and consuming async data.
You will join a team of skilled engineers and as a part of that team you will ensure that we deliver an event streaming platform for the rest of the LEGO group.
You will participate in our engineering community around event driven architecture and use the guidance from the community as a guiding star on how to improve our product.
You will help create self-service tools and automations to improve the daily life of the rest of the organization. There will also be opportunities to help guide and advice our product teams in their usage of the platforms but also how to design and build modern integrations using APIs and Events.
There is also a rotating on-call duty that it is expected you will join, once you are familiar with the systems and the processes.
Play your part in our team succeeding
The API Management team is one of the pillars of our newly established Digital Platforms department. The goal is to create and maintain tools and infrastructure that can be reused and share across all our product domains.
We apply platform engineering and product management practices to ensure we build what brings the most value to our customers (the other software engineers) and ensure a close feedback loop.
You will get a chance to play with exciting technologies, like Apache Pulsar event broker, Kubernetes, as well as monitoring using the ELK stack.
Do you have what it takes?
You are passionate about modern software architecture and engineering practices. It's phenomenal if you have experience with event driven architecture and pub/sub.
It's fantastic if you are familiar with open source, have a collaborative approach and recognize the following experiences:
- Event driven architecture and technologies like Pulsar, Kafka or RabbitMQ
- Infrastructure as code
- Container orchestration like docker or Kubernetes
As a person you are eager to participate in engineering communities, and to learn and experiment. You enjoy a flexible and inspiring environment that embraces diversity.
Nice-to-have experiences:
- AsyncAPI Specifications
- OAuth and Identity providers
