The Chair for Digital Studies at the European New School of Digital Studies (ENS)
Working field:
The ENS is a cross-border, international teaching and research institution focusing on
digitalization and located at the Collegium Polonicum in Słubice. It was founded in 2020 with the
vision of combining economics, law, social science and technical expertise in computer and
technology sciences to meet the challenges of digital transformation.
The Chair for Digital Studies investigates questions of media and data practices, media
geopolitics, algorithmic accountability, and digital warfare. A special research focus is on Central
and Eastern Europe.
Tasks
Applicants should have experience in one or more of the following areas:

Tasks
Applicants should have experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Academic support of research and publication activities (e.g. reviewing literature, creating text corpora and overviews, media research, proofreading, transcribing interviews, support in qualitative data coding)
- Background in cultural studies and social sciences or STS is preferred
- Use of software for research and projects (e.g. handling databases, and digital methods, mapping and data analytics tools, creating project websites)
- General and teaching and event support (e.g. in preparing readers, communicating with

Applicants should be enrolled in a bachelors or master’s program in the social sciences,
humanities, computer science, arts or design. You should be interested in working across
disciplines and in engaging with other knowledge cultures. You should further be capable of and
interested in working both as part of a team and independently. Fluency in English is essential for
the academic life at the center. Additional fluency in the German language is appreciated.
